MGR:R is perhaps the best AAA title in a long time, imo, and has a fantastically goofy and tongue in cheek narrative with the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combat system.period, in my eyes. I typically stick to the sword now, but I loved the polearm my first time through.Īnd quitting MGR:R over something like this would be hella lame. You don't need to kill everything in a single combo, though practice and experience will eventually allow you to do that (or get close to that).Īlso, as mentioned, the polearm works wonders in the fight, as it allows you to hit multiple Raptors at once and can make quick work of the armor on their legs. The number one trick to fighting groups of enemies that like to go off screen is to get some damage in, and then make sure to move so you can make sure you don't get back stabbed. If you have people off-camera, you need to find a way to get them on-camera by relocating. Camera management is paramount in MGR:R, and that's one of the first fights that makes you utilize it. I hope future fights against them aren't like this or I may end up just quitting, other fights have been challenging but fun, this fight I just feel like its going to be luck when I finally do it. Its a completely unfair fight, impossible to see them all and one of their attacks they telegraph is also impossible to see. they keep attacking me from off camera as the cramped space means I can never have all 3 on screen at once, and one of their kicks which starts low is underwater so you can't see it coming, you just get hit in the face.
